The flight, traveling from Ahmedabad to Gatwick, experienced a devastating accident shortly after takeoff. Chandrasekaran’s statement, released by the Tata Group on X, conveyed condolences to the families and loved ones affected by the event. Air India is actively assisting emergency response teams and prioritizes support for those impacted. An emergency centre has been established for families seeking information and updates. The flight carried 242 people, including pilots and cabin crew. While the number of casualties is currently unknown, rescue efforts are ongoing. A nearby building also caught fire.
