BAU Research Council Meeting Focuses on Innovation and Growth
Ranchi, June 21 – The 45th Research Council meeting at Birsa Agricultural University (BAU) saw discussions on boosting agricultural research and development in Jharkhand. Led by Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sunil Chandra Dubey, the meeting brought together scientists and researchers to review past achievements and plan future strategies. Chief Guest Dr. Devendra Kumar Yadav, from the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), emphasized the importance of connecting research with farmers' needs and highlighted initiatives like the ‘Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyaan’. Researchers also discussed the need for practical, marketable technologies and urged for greater collaboration to avoid falling behind in research advancements.
The council tackled challenges such as manpower shortages and the importance of inter-institutional collaboration. BAU's commitment to supporting Jharkhand’s agricultural sector and driving self-sustainability were also key discussion points. The meeting will continue over the next two days, featuring departmental presentations and a focus on practical research solutions.
