The Indian Railways has announced a change to ticket prices, effective July 1st, 2025. This adjustment aims to improve the financial stability of passenger train services. Here's a breakdown of the changes:
Here’s a look at the revised rates for different classes:
Second Class (Non-AC): Increases of 0.5 paise per kilometer. No increase up to 500km. 5 rupees for 501-1500km, 10 rupees for 1501-2500km and 15 rupees for 2501-3000km. Sleeper Class: 0.5 paise per kilometer per km. First Class: 0.5 paise per kilometer per km. For Mail/Express Trains (Non-AC): Second Class: 1 paise per kilometer. Sleeper Class: 1 paise per kilometer. First Class: 1 paise per kilometer.
Important Notes: * AC Chair Car, AC 3-Tier/3-Economy, AC 2-Tier, and AC First/Executive/Executive Chair Classes also see a 2 paise per kilometer increase. * Reservation fees, superfast surcharges, and other charges remain unchanged and are subject to GST rules. The rounding principle will be enforced as before.
