Ranchi: Allegations of Corruption in Jharkhand Sports Department Tender
Ranchi Residents Raise Concerns Over Sports Department Tender
Local residents and opposition leaders have raised serious concerns regarding alleged corruption within the Jharkhand Sports Department. Leader of the Opposition, Babu Lal Marandi, used social media to question a tender process involving 6 crore rupees. Key figures, including MP Deepak Prakash, also targeted Sports Minister Sudhivy Sonu, citing 'absurd scams' like filling e-rickshas with diesel.
The controversy centers around the purchase of sports kits for players. The tender process saw L1 (16999 rupees) and L2 (21999 rupees) companies awarded the contract, despite L1 offering a lower bid. While Sports Director Sandeep Kumar claims no irregularities occurred—citing a QCBC method scoring L2 higher (88 points vs L1’s 83)—opposition leaders insist on a full investigation and accountability.
