Ranchi Residents Raise Concerns Over Sports Department Tender

Local residents are expressing strong concerns regarding alleged corruption within the Jharkhand Sports Department. Opposition leader, Babu Lal Marandi, has raised questions about a tender process worth approximately 6 crore rupees, citing irregularities in the awarding of a contract for sports kits.The controversy surrounds a tender to purchase sports and generic kits for players. Initially, Sports India quoted ₹16,999, Shiv नरेश quoted ₹21,999, and L-Three Company offered ₹25,600. However, the department awarded the contract to Shiv नरेश, despite the company’s higher pricing. While Sports Department Director Sandeep Kumar claims no irregularities occurred, citing a QCBC method that favored Shiv नरेश (88 points) over Sports India (83 points), locals remain skeptical.
