Central Team Inspects Ration Shop in Potka, Emphasizes Fortified Rice Distribution

Ration Shop Inspection in Potka

A central team led by Joint Secretary Ravi Shankar from the Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs Ministry conducted an inspection of a Janta Distribution System (JDS) shop in Kalikapur Panchayat, Potka, on Friday. The shop is operated by Uma Gupta.During the inspection, the team assessed the storage condition of rice and wheat, reviewed stock registers and departmental records. Shankar also gathered information from the shopkeeper regarding the rations distributed in June, July, and August. The team then tested the quality of the grains in the shop’s warehouse and instructed the shopkeeper to distribute chana dal (split chickpeas) to cardholders.Shankar provided crucial instructions, advising cardholders that they were receiving fortified rice of high quality and to consume it without hesitation. He also cautioned against spreading rumors.
