A retired village officer, Nagenesh Dongduwagekar, has been sentenced to one year of hard labor after being found guilty of accepting a bribe 25 years ago. The case, dating back to 1995, involved a farmer named Lakshman Rukanna Katamble who accused the officer of demanding ₹500 to issue his RTC document. The investigation by the Lokayukta police led to the officer's arrest, but the case went through several legal battles. Sadly, Lakshman passed away five years ago, but his memory lives on through his contributions to the community. The Supreme Court’s recent ruling finally delivered justice, strengthening public trust in the legal system.
