Delhi Jal Board Launches New Water Pipeline in Rohini, Addressing Decades-Long Crisis
Rohini Residents Get Access to Clean Water
The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has inaugurated a new potable water pipeline project in Rohini Sector 20, under the Bawana Assembly constituency. This project, expected to be completed within two months, aims to provide clean drinking water to families in the rehabilitation colonies of the area, addressing a crisis that has persisted for 30 years.
Minister Ravinder Indraj Singh emphasized the government’s priority of delivering essential services to all parts of Delhi, particularly for vulnerable communities. The initiative is part of a broader effort to improve infrastructure and quality of life across the city.
Beyond just water, the Minister highlighted positive changes this year, including reduced waterlogging at the Minto Bridge and improvements in Delhi’s air quality, attributing these advancements to effective governance and dedicated work.
The government is also focusing on important social initiatives, such as tackling drug addiction with dedicated programs and events, and streamlining the disbursement of scholarships for students from marginalized communities. Plans include reopening operational hostels and fostering the growth of cooperatives across the city.
