A woman has been arrested at Tatanagar Railway Station in Jamshedpur for stealing from passengers. The woman, identified as Pallavi Devi (also known as Nisha) from Rohtas district in Bihar, was apprehended by RPF and GRP officers.Police recovered approximately 3700 rupees in cash, a gold chain, a gold bracelet, and other valuables from her possession. The incident occurred on August 19th, when a female passenger’s belongings were stolen. The victim filed a complaint with the GRP police station, prompting an investigation by the RPF. CCTV footage revealed suspicious activity, leading to the woman’s identification and arrest.During questioning, Pallavi Devi confessed to repeatedly targeting women during train boarding and disembarking. She was identified as a professional criminal involved in theft at multiple stations. She has been handed over to the GRP for further investigation.The Railway has issued an appeal to passengers to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to RPF or GRP immediately, prioritizing passenger safety.
