XLRI Students to Shape Jharkhand Industrial Policy Through New Lab

XLRI Launches Innovative Industrial Policy Lab

Jamshedpur – Leading business school XLRI Jamshedpur has partnered with key Jharkhand government bodies and Invest India to launch a groundbreaking initiative: the Jharkhand Industrial Policy Lab. This innovative program will see XLRI management students directly contributing to the development of state industrial policies – a first of its kind in India. The launch event, held at XLRI, brought together representatives from the Jharkhand Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (JIIDCO), the Jharkhand Industrial Area Development Authority (JIADA), and Invest India.

The program's core will see over 30 student teams tackling projects across governance, infrastructure, MSME competitiveness, and sustainability – all guided by XLRI faculty and industry experts. Participants will engage through both an elective on Public Policy and the Committee for Public Policy Research (CPPR). Speaking at the launch, Dr. Kalyan Bhaskar emphasized the unique opportunity for students to directly influence policy, while Varun Ranjan highlighted the collaborative approach to building Jharkhand’s industrial future. Invest India noted the initiative’s potential to support capacity building for other states. The launch concluded with a networking dinner, solidifying the collaboration between academia, government, and industry.
