Ranchi BJP Leaders Raise Concerns Over Language Policies and Scholarship Delays
Local Leaders Advocate for Language Inclusion and Student Support
Ranchi – A delegation of BJP leaders met with Jharkhand Governor Smt. Satya Pal Singh on Tuesday to address several key concerns. The group, including former ministers Nilkant Singh Munda, Bhanu Pratap Shah, and MLAs Amit Mandal, sought the Governor's assistance in resolving the ongoing language disputes surrounding the Jharkhand TET exam and the delayed disbursement of scholarships to vocational course students. They expressed frustration over the lack of support for students, particularly highlighting the historical significance of the Mundari language, the original tongue of Birsa Munda, and the impact of removing Mundari from the Jharkhand TET exam.
The leaders voiced their concerns over the exclusion of languages like Bhojpuri and Angika from the exam, arguing it disrespects the local culture and the educational needs of students in regions like Palamu-Gardwa and Goda. They questioned the government’s motives, suggesting the delay in scholarships and the manipulation of the J-TET exam were deliberate tactics to prevent youth employment. The group demanded a review of language policies and a commitment to supporting students’ educational pursuits.
